Liisu and James’ fairy romance
We had been together for five years when James proposed to me on our trip to the United States of America. Of course my answer was YES! We were planning our wedding for two years and with this time our wishes and ideas changed a lot, but at the same time the long organizing period helped us to get everything we wanted in our wedding and on our honeymoon.
When choosing the location of our wedding party, we actually chose the first place that we visited. The feeling was so right and we totally fell in love with Sagadi manor. The place was perfect – slightly elegant, calm and with a strong historic background. Actually in the beginning we dreamed about a down-to-earth wedding with field flowers, burlap and tea candles, but together with the wedding planner and the florist our wedding turned out to be a slightly elegant fairytale wedding with greenery. It was all gorgeous – the table was covered with many different candles, lush meandering greenery and blue hydrangea blossoms. Rustic place cards added cozyness. We wished to have a fairy wedding with a free atmosphere and I believe we succeeded! One of our guests even said that our wedding seemed like a fairytale! For the guests the most memorable were the games that our MC Taavi organized and the moving short video of the wedding day. And of course the wedding cake, that was still remembered the next morning. It was with a heavenly taste and completely eaten by the morning. I have never seen it in any wedding before!
Looking back on our wedding day we wouldn’t change anything but the fact that there was too little time to enjoy everything and celebrate with our loved ones. For us the most moving moment was when we gave each other the vows that we had written. We also liked the moment we first met before the ceremony a lot – it was so emotional!
We wanted everything to be as we had dreamed, so we were not trying to save money or compromise with anything. The flowers, photos, video, cake, location and music were costly, but as a result we had a perfect wedding day.
